We are a small, innovative, enthusiastic, and personalized organization that is specialized in taking travelers for trek, tours, and expeditions in the Himalayan region. Prior to 1984 when the company was founded, the company’s founder Mr. Mingma Dorji Sherpa has been involved in the tourism field. The first ascent of Everest in 1953, by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay highlighted Nepal more into the Adventure Travel destination in the world. This was then father of Mr. Mingma Dorji Sherpa, first established a travel company before 1984.
We have ever since grown in the travel field for more than 25 years. We're based in Kathmandu, but also operate extension trips in Bhutan, Tibet and Sikkim too. Last Frontiers have team of people who are devoted and dedicated in this travel field for more than 15 years. Our leader, guides, cooks and porters work as a well-balanced team. We recognize them as the pillars of the company.
We have dedicated staff that is totally committed to service and whose friendly, caring and professional attitude will win you over. The incredibly high number of clients who return again to travel with us is an indicator of our performance. Word-of-mouth recommendation and not lavish advertising, has resulted in our considerable growth over the years.

Mingma Dorji Sherpa – Founder & Managing Director
He has been working in the Tourism industry since his early age of 16. He has widely traveled to overseas countries like USA, Japan, Australia, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, Philippines, and Korea for tourism business promotions.
He is the founder and managing Director of Last Frontiers Trekking (P) Ltd. Established back in 1984, he is active in many organizations related to tourism industry. He was elected by the members of NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association) to the post of 2nd Vice President. He served as Executive member in TAAN (Trekking Agents Association of Nepal) for 4 consecutive years. He is member of HRA (Himalayan Rescue Association) and Pasang Lhamu Foundation. Beside tourism, Mingma Sherpa is involved in financing business and he is director of the Lumbini Finance and Leasing Company at Thamel, established back in 1995. He is also director of Lumbini General Insurance. He has been in the Tourism for the last two decade and has a deep knowledge of tourism aspects in Nepal and especially in Trekking and Mountaineering. Mingma Sherpa is also the founder & director of CHAHHARI "Home Style Resort". He is currently constantly working towards society and development of the remote areas of Nepal. He is also the founder and chairs non-profit organization called Project Nepal. www.project-nepal.org
He inherits this knowledge from his father (Mr. Pasang Phutar Sherpa) who was in the Historic Expedition of 1953 when Mt. Everest was conquered for the first time. Who started one of the first trekking and travel company in Nepal, called Gauri Shanker Trekking back in the 60’s.

We are also opening a boutique-style lodge, which will provide an alternative to Hotels.
Our Style
Over the years, we have managed to maintain the art of traveling into the outdoor world. From our efficient inland operation, to how we administrator our operation, to how we have managed to be GREEN in our daily operation – example can be seen from our SOLAR BATTERY POWER that we use in our office. We do not talk GREEN but practice GREEN in our daily operation.
  
Nima Tashi Sherpa – Deputy Managing Director
He is the third generation addition to the travel and tour business. Graduating from United States with his masters in Computers, he has been a creative hand and an assets to the company. Mostly, involved in promotion, business development, correspondence, and marketing. He is physically present in the entire management of the company. He is also an outdoor lover, and has trekked to the Annapurna, Everest, and the Gorkha, and traveled into Tibet.
Gyanu Ratna Sthapit – Financial Controller
He joined the company back in 1980's. Since then he has been managing the company accounts and in addition coordinates with our Operations. Gyanu has experienced the both the good times in tourism in Nepal, and down times. He has been involved with the company for many years, and gives a good assets to the company for his experiences. He is constantly there in company's operation and administration. He has also done trekking to different area like Langtang, Everest, Annapurna and Gorkha.
Kishor Raj Paudel – Reservation Manager
He joined the company back in 1994. He takes charge of all the flight bookings, hotel arrangements, and sightseeing and staff mobilization. His great communication skills and public relation with the local agents in Nepal, has helped him reach to this extend, and created a great good will among the local agents for Last Frontiers Trekking. Prior to Last Frontiers, Kishor was into airlines ticketing and knows a great deal about Airlines. His knowledge and expertise takes Last Frontiers to a different level.
Jabil Manandhar – Operation Manager
Young and fresh energy to Last Frontiers Trekking, Jabil Manandhar is a great addition to the company. With high aspiration and enthusiasm, Jabil brings his scholar skill into Last Frontiers. His presence in the company and relation with the staffs makes him a wonderful person to work among. He is responsible for all the trip arrangements (food, equipments, staffs), trip dispatch, all the purchase and inventory, and also assist in management, marketing, and promotion. Jabil brings Last Frontiers to a 21st century way of operation.
