Trekking in the Himalaya and other regions of Last Frontiers
Trekking is hiking through the high and low hills and to mountainous regions over an extended period of time, usually in the company of leader/Sirdar,
guide, cook and porters or pack of animals. Trekkers rely on the local staff for path finding and in gaining knowledgeable ideas of the local people, their
culture, religion and life style. For most part, trekking routes are well traveled by local people, but mostly unmarked with any signposts. There are few
motor able roads through the Himalayas, so anyone who travels must walk.
You will usually cover 9-13 km per day (5-7 hrs on average). You will have enough time to stop whenever you wish to talk, photograph or just observe and
admire the beauty of the culture and scenery around you. The object of trekking is not just a particular destination, but also the journey itself.
Last Frontiers grew from taking travelers walking and hiking in the remote parts of Nepal, Tibet, Sikkim, and Bhutan. Our expertise and guides have well
knowledge about the hiking areas, and are able to cater your trekking experiences in Last Frontiers area of REGION.

Phoksundo Lake has been captured in the feature film Caravan.
Endangered species like Snow Leopard live here. As the Tibetan people continue to live there and carry on their cultivation, domestication and trade, they
have managed to preserve many of their fascinating monasteries. There are spectacular landscapes, unique Tibetan and Bon villages.
The Upper part of Dolpo is more hidden from civilizations and has preserved cultures still more intact. The entire district was closed of to foreigners

Manaslu is located in Nepal's Gorkha District and rises to 8,163 meters. Manaslu lies just east of the famed Annapurna Region and shares a border with its
northern neighbor, Tibet. Opened to trekkers recently, Manaslu's unsurpassed beauty and rich blend of Tibetan and Nepali cultures offer the dedicated
trekker a genuine adventure. This is a difficult trek that requires us to be very isolated from any sort of modern facilities. The trek reaches high
elevations and has the opportunity to view rocky and mountainous landscapes and aqua blue-green glacier lakes.
The trek around Manaslu is one of the hard treks in Nepal; it passes through spectacular mountain views and culturally diverse lowland Nepali people to
highland Tibetan people. The beginning part of the trek goes through Budi Gandaki valley crossing and re-crossing the river, inhabited mostly by Gurung
people.
The upper highlands are inhabited by Tibetan people, their cultures are similar to Tibet, and they grow barley and buckwheat in their farmlands. There is
always a view of Manaslu and Himal chuli on the trek. The path to Larkya La Pass is marked by Mani walls, the top of the Pass is marked by prayer flags, and
it also offers excellent views of the surrounding peaks.

Trek to the base camp of world's third highest mountain, Kanchenjunga. Located in the Eastern Nepal the border of Nepal and Sikkim, Kanchenjunga is the most
easterly of the 8,000 meter Himalayan peaks. Kanchenjunga is also less explored than other famous Himalaya regions of Nepal such as Everest and Annapurna.
Kanchenjunga is certainly the richest area of the Nepal Himalayas for ecological diversity. The steep, heavily wooded valleys offer an ideal habitat for a
wide variety of plant, wild animals and birds. Excellent views of Everest, Makalu and of course Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world
highlights photographic opportunities. The area offers more authentic wilderness than other areas of Nepal because of its rugged terrain that limits human
dwelling. More than 30 species of rhododendrons bloom on the hillsides in spring. This attracts more sunbirds than can be found anywhere else in the
country. The inhabitants are primarily Rais, Limbus, Sherpas, and Bhotias in the middle and higher hills, Gurungs, Magars, Tamangs, Chettris, and Brahmins
live in lower clustered communities that have been more developed. This area receives more rainfall on average than other parts of Nepal.

This is one of the famous and the easiest trek in Nepal and has few uphill climbs of any significance. Trekking westwards there are many alternatives. A
northern route presents a trek close to the mountains Manaslu (7945m.), Himalchuli, Boudha (6674m.) and a side trip to Bara Pokhari, a fine high altitude
lake. The more direct southern route to Pokhara allows a visit to the ancient town of Gorkha with its large bazaar and fort. This route has the attraction
of lower altitudes and avoids the extreme elevation gains/losses common to other treks in Nepal.
It is no doubt that Gorkha is the homeland of the famous Gurkha warriors, renowned worldwide for their courage and loyalty. This trek introduces you to
Nepalese life in the central mountain area as you visit scores of villages clinging to terraced mountain slopes. The rugged landscape is divided by a
multitude of high ridges and deep river valleys providing breathtaking views at every turn and ridge top.
