IN THE MANASLU
The trek around Manaslu is one of the hard treks in Nepal, it passes through
spectacular mountain views and culturally diverse lowland Nepali people
to highland Tibeto Mongoloid people. It has been opened to tourist recently.
The beginning part of the trek goes through Buri Gandaki valley crossing
and re-crossing the river, inhabited mostly by Gurung people.
The upper highland are inhabited by Tibeto Mongoloid people, their cultures
are similar to Tibet, they grow barley and buckwheat in their farmlands.
There is always views of Manaslu and Himal chuli on the trek. The path to
Larkya La Pass is marked by Mani walls, the top of the Pass is marked by
prayer flags, it also offers excellent views of the surrounding peaks. We
descend down the Marshyangdi valley to join the Annapurna circuit trail
and end in Besisahar.
